The EU topic: sustainable Union agriculture
EU Drops & Bites was selected under the topic AGRIP-SIMPLE-2025-IM-SUSTAINABLE, which supports information and promotion programmes that increase awareness of sustainable Union agriculture and animal welfare. The objective of the topic is to highlight the sustainability of Union agriculture, stressing its beneficial role for the climate, the environment and animal welfare.
The expected impact is greater awareness among European consumers of sustainable agricultural practices that benefit the climate, the environment and animal welfare, and greater competitiveness and consumption of sustainably produced agri-food products in the Union, together with a higher profile and a larger market share for these products.
Under this topic, the production methods of the promoted products must cover at least two of the areas of action for the climate, the environment, animal welfare and combating antimicrobial resistance listed in Article 31(4) of Regulation (EU) 2021/2115, and must go beyond the minimum standards that apply in each area. These areas, and the rules behind them, are described on the page European production, quality and sustainability.

Who the programme addresses
The programme addresses two audiences in Finland and Sweden:
- Consumers who want to know more about the food they buy, how it is produced and how to use it. The product pages and the recipes are written for them.
- Professionals: importers, distributors, retail and supermarket buyers, chefs, journalists and food and lifestyle content creators, for whom the production and quality information on this website is intended as a reference.
Activities
Over three years, the programme plans information and promotion activities in both markets, including this website and the campaign’s social media channels, press and public-relations activities, tasting days, participation in food trade fairs, and campaign publications. The programme’s activities will be reported in News & activities.
This website is the programme’s central information platform. It is published in Swedish and Finnish, the languages of the two target markets, and in English and Greek.
